The Shred Sled's Artistic Makeover with KidWiseman (video)

For those of you who were following along, I recently bought a 2001 school bus. The intention was simple—tour the west coast to spread the stoke and teach folks about longboarding. Rightfully so, we called the bus the "Shred Sled."

As you may have noticed, the Shred Sled doesn't have an ordinary paint job. At first we painted the bus polar bear white, but something was definitely missing. After all, we didn’t want this to be any old converted school bus! We knew it needed to explode with life, color and joy. We wanted to provide people with something that would make them feel welcome, that would spark curiosity, and good conversation. It needed to be bold just like what we are doing.

Thankfully, we were introduced to an artist named KidWiseman. He uses color to spark experience and empower people to use their imaginations to make dreams a reality.

KidWiseman helps connect young highschool students who are interested in photo, video, art, and storytelling, to real world artists. He gives them the opportunity to make art of their own with their preferred tools. Kid strives to teach students how to learn outside of the classroom, by employing them on his projects.

When we saw KidWiseman's art and what he stood for, we knew he was the right fit.

Painting the Shred Sled took two days. Despite being chased by the Seattle rain, we managed to complete the job and it turned out to be better than we imagined.
