Vibe Ride Community Guidelines

Vibe Ride is a Los Angeles Skate Community that welcomes everyone, regardless of skill level, age, gender, or background.  We’re here to celebrate skating, movement, and connection. We want our events to feel fun, safe, and welcoming for everyone. To protect that spirit, these guidelines set clear expectations for all members — and the consequences if they’re broken.

Community Guideline Goals ✅

1. Display Respectful Exchanges

Treat others with courtesy, both online and in-person. Dialogue should remain polite and constructive — no insults, harassment, or demeaning language. Hate speech, discrimination, or targeting based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or disability has no place in our community.

2. Foster Positive Community

Strive to uplift others in your words and actions. Keep conversations truthful, constructive, and relevant, especially when disagreements arise. Avoid gossip and negativity that can erode trust — instead, focus on building people up.

3. Graceful Conflict Resolution

Disagreements happen. We encourage members to resolve issues calmly and directly with one another when possible. If that doesn’t feel safe or effective, reach out to the Leadership Team privately or through our optionally-anonymous feedback form.

4. Celebrate Diversity & Inclusivity

We celebrate the diversity of our members and want everyone to feel welcome. Respect differences in culture, identity, and perspective. Every member deserves space to share their ideas and be treated with dignity.

5. Encourage Self-Moderation & Awareness

Be mindful of your impact. Avoid reckless skating or behavior that could put others at risk. The goal is to create a safe, fun ride for everyone — not just yourself.

6. Limit Substance Use

We ask that members do not openly drink alcohol, smoke weed, or handle other substances during our events. After-ride hangs are an exception, but intoxication that leads to unsafe or reckless behavior is always grounds for enforcement.

7. Nurture Digital Respect (Heylo & Online Spaces)

Keep our online community healthy. Avoid spamming (mass tagging, repeated off-topic posts, excessive personal invites, or DM spam). Invites to personal residences should not be directly shared in our community chats. Respect privacy by not sharing another member’s personal information without consent.

8. Create Safe Physical Space

Respect personal boundaries. Always ask before physical contact or entering someone’s space. Comfort and safety come first.

(progressive discipline applies — see Enforcement System below)

Zero-Tolerance Policy 🚫

Vibe Ride has a Zero-Tolerance Policy for physical, verbal, or digital harassment and abuse.

Harassment is defined as any unwanted physical or verbal conduct that offends or humiliates the recipient, and interferes with their ability to safely and comfortably participate in our community.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Violence, fighting, or threats

  • Openly carrying weapons of any kind

  • Physical, verbal, or digital harassment or abuse

  • Hate speech or discrimination

  • Reckless endangerment of others (including intoxication that creates risk)

  • Sharing another member’s private information (phone number, address, etc.) without consent

(harsher immediate consequences apply — see Enforcement System below)

Enforcement System ⚖️

For Community Guidelines

  • 1st Offense → Warning + suspension from volunteer team (if applicable) + probation begins (3 months)

  • 2nd Offense (during probation) → 2-week suspension from Vibe Ride + permanent removal from volunteer team

  • 3rd Offense (during probation) → Indefinite suspension from Vibe Ride

For Zero-Tolerance Violations

  • 1st Offense → Immediate removal from volunteer team + minimum 2 week suspension from Vibe Ride + probation begins (3 months)

  • 2nd Offense (during probation) → Indefinite suspension from Vibe Ride

Enforcement Standards

Probation & Escalation

  • Probation is always a 3**-month period starting from the most recent offense**.

  • Any further offense during probation counts as a “consecutive offense.”

Probation Cycle details

  • 1st probation cycle → offenses follow normal 1st / 2nd / 3rd offense rules.

  • 2nd probation cycle → member begins at the 2nd offense stage (no “first offense” leeway).

  • 3rd probation cycle → member begins at the 3rd offense stage (indefinite suspension).

  • No more than 3 probation cycles are allowed. A 3rd probation automatically results in indefinite suspension.

Notes on Enforcement

  • Applies to all members, not just volunteers.

  • Leadership Team enforces these guidelines on a consensus basis.

  • The enforcement standards above will be used as a baseline, but may adapt to the specific instance and severity.

Closing Reminder ✨

Vibe Ride exists to create joy, confidence, and connection through skating. These guidelines aren’t about being strict for the sake of it — they’re about protecting the vibe so everyone feels safe showing up as themselves.
